Share your tree as a website

The classic genealogist's problem: you have years of research, your family has none of your software. StemmaFiles solves it with one click — Settings → Data → Export family website…

What you get

A folder of static files:

  • index.html — a searchable list of everyone (works offline, diacritics-tolerant),
  • tree.html — the whole family tree as a clickable chart, with a fullscreen button,
  • one page per person — facts, parents, marriages, children, photos, and a clickable mini-tree centred on them,
  • your photos, copied in.

Open index.html in any browser — straight from the folder. No server, no account, no app needed to view it.

Privacy

Two safeguards, both in Settings:

  • Anonymize living people — anyone probably alive (no death, born within 100 years) becomes a "Living" placeholder: no name, no facts, no photos, on every page including the chart and page filenames.
  • Export scope — export everyone, or only one person's branch (ancestors or descendants).

How to share it

  • Zip it and send by email / WhatsApp / USB stick — recipients just open index.html.
  • Host it on any static host (Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, GitHub Pages…) if you want a link instead; password-protect it there if you wish.

Tweaks

  • The mini-tree depth on person pages is a Settings slider (0–3 generations).
  • The site's language follows the app language (English/Polish).
  • Re-export any time — page addresses stay stable for unchanged people, so bookmarks survive.
